Advisory Group

Having within leading witchcraft traditions some very wise people, you might ask why we need an advisory group. Some may even suggest that it is a ploy to make it seem more suitable or to pretend teen's are actively involved in its production.

It is true that we have an advisory group on the larger school-of-witchcraft site project aimed at an adult audience that could have taken on this role, however we chose to set this up as a separate project, rather than as a sub site or section of the other project as we wanted to make is suitable for a primary purpose of being a site for a teen audience. If we had a collection of experienced witches write it, we would have a good site, accurate, good content, but not either the content or style that was most liked by the teen audience.

We had considered if the site could be completely developed by teen's, providing the support, editing, loading etc was provided, but we thought that editorially and factually this might be weak, while a composite project using  a range of people through an advisory group would produce the ideal balance.

The opinion of every person within the advisory group is considered of equal value. It is the role of the chairman to assimilate these, keeping track of the prime purpose of the site and encourage diversity of views and reach a balanced way forward.

What is involved with being on the advisory group.

Largely it is involved with giving views, suggesting content, reading what has been written and commenting, checking out detail, and making any other suggestions as to improvement.

Much of this will be done by either looking at information that will be on this site and emailing the chairman with your views.

In addition from this site we will have a discussion board specifically allowing you within the advisory group to discus amongst yourselves, topics you feel are relevant. Another discussion board will ask for information on areas you are researching, allowing you each to help  others with their search for knowledge to complete articles.

Board members do not necessarily have to write articles although many will choose to do so.

Please volunteer to be involved in the advisory group, you will be able to spend as much or as little time as you like involved in this, but your contribution will be appreciated. The email address is below.
